creative in another way

I´ve been creative in an unusual way: creating the right atmosphere in my new home

my favorite things at my new home are...

This wall: it´s made out of special stones (Drápuhlíðargrjót) and I loved it the minute I walked into the house for the first time
the table: it was left in the house by the former owners & it looks like it was made
for this house
this whole room: the livingroom, it´s so big, bright and beautiful

... having my own garden: can´t wait to grow my own herbs, veggies and flowers

... having my own working-space/craft room with this view:

sneak-peek on my working space I: I carved the fish myself with a little help by my mother
the rest was found on the beach in Arnarfjörður (Westfjords) last summer

sneak-peek II: from the Westfjords

sneak-peek III: remains of my youth

my boys love our new home too...

... but THEIR favorite thing about it is this football-game that was left in the house
by the former owners

I must say, I love almost every little thing about this house - and the longer I live in it,
the more I like it
... and it has such a wonderful ´60/´70ies flair to i

another "Kría"

I finished another Kría-shawl the other day and gave it to a very dear friend.
I used my own, naturally dyed yarn (dyed with Arctostaphylos uva-ursi) and some normal kambgarn from my stash...

once again, I made an scalloped edging

the brown colored yarn is my natural dyed yarn... can you see the wonderful irregularities?

this shawl was so perfect for my friend...

Word of the week: outlines

Like always, I had so much fun with this weeks "word of the week - outlines".
I took me some time to shoot the pictures since it was raining a lot but here you go...

Street art in 101 Reykjavík

my own - I call it "a lot on my mind"... outlines only...

my own - only circles in this one

crochet pendant

I improvised this crochet pendant the other day. As a base I used a coppar wire from a piece of an electric cord an electrician gave me. I crochet around the wire, did some embroidery and used a beautiful vintage flowerbutton from my button-collection.

I like this little flowery-thing, but I'm having trouble finding the right chain for it... maby I should use a leather cord???

Do you have any ideas?

Done!

Remember this post  and this one about my crochet-blanket I started 2011?? Well... I finally managed to finish it!
I used icelandic léttlopi and hook nr. 5

It started up as a scrap-afghan, but of course I ended up buying a lot of extra yarn - especially since I´ve been adding more and more rounds to the about 105 squares.
I added 3 extra rows in 2 colors to  each square for two reasons:
1. To  keep it a bit more calm and organized - all those colors made it look so crazy and unorganized
2. To make the squares bigger so I wouldn´t have to make&join over 200 to reach the right size:-)

I joined them with my favorite color: mustard-yellow and it´s huge

Me and my older one love this blanket so much & we will be using it a lot!
